Kids Online Time

The clock at Kids Online is based on Universal Time and not your normal time. The reason for this is because Kids Online is a worldwide site enjoyed by kids from around the globe. Kids come here to chat, post messages, and other things that require them to be able to know when to meet their friends. When two friends live on opposite sides of the world from each other it is often hard to know what time to tell the other person to meet. It's not like most of us have clocks set to tell what time it is on the other side of the world. For this reason, the Kids Online Clock shows the same time no matter where you live. Kids in China see the same time as kids in Canada. A kid in Russia or Egypt will see the same time as a kid in Cuba. It's the same exact time no matter where you live.

One big difference in the Kids Online Time and normal time is that Kids Online Time counts from 0 to 24 hours. It doesn't have the regular 1 to 12PM and 1 to 12AM time that many of us are used to. From midnight Kids Online Time to 12PM is the same, but after that it's a little different. Instead of starting back at 1:00 again it goes to 13:00. 2:00 is 14:00, 3:00 is 15:00, 4:00 is 16:00, and so on up to 11:00 PM, which is 23:00. At midnight Kids Online Time it becomes 0:00 and starts a whole new 24 hour day again. This may all sound a bit confusing at first but this method of keeping time has been in use worldwide for a long time. When you tell a friend to meet you in the chat at 16:00 Kids Online Time you don't have to worry about what time it is there because 16:00 Kids Online Time is the same time for both of you. It makes things a lot easier in the long run once you get used to it. Most computers already have a clock that gives your current time anyway, so a clock like that is kind of useless. The Kids Online Clock gives kids a time that no longer needs to be converted in order to tell distant friends when to meet them.

The Kids Online Time displays Universal Time Coordinated or UTC, which is also known as Greenwich Mean Time or GMT. This is the standard time common to every place in the world.
