What does tobacco, alcohol, and drugs all have in common? They are all bad for you, they are all
addictive, they all are drugs, and they all are capable of killing you.
Why do people do these things? When people fall into these traps they do not like being alone.
They want to find other people who will do these things with them. People often get started because
they have a curiosity of wanting to try something new. It soon becomes something to do in order to
prevent feeling left out. After a few times doing these things, many people become trapped and can't stop!
Drugs cause you to experience a brief period of loosing control, then you spend hours, if not days
recuperating, usually feeling quite miserable. The after effects include nausea, vomiting, terrible
headaches, dizziness, loss of bladder control, passing out, and other bad things. The long-term effects
can include loss of memory, liver disease, cancer, loss of employment, spouse and child abuse, suicide,
nervous breakdowns, and many other serious things, including death.
Some people think these things are cool at first, but usually they begin to hate what is happening
to them. After a very short period of time most people find it extremely difficult, if not almost impossible
to stop their addiction. What's the best way to stop? Don't ever let yourself start! That is the best
and easiest way. If you have already fallen into one of these traps seek help immediately! Don't wait!
Talk to others, like yourself, who desperately want to stop. Join a support group. Stay away from people
who try to persuade you to do these things! It's hard to stop something if you continue to go around it!
Pray about it! The main thing is to stop before things get any worse than they already are!
If you continue using drugs it not only becomes harder and harder to stop, but your life span will also
become shorter and shorter. The key to survival is not to ever start. If you have already started stop today!
Don't wait until tomorrow! You may not get the chance!
